Thursday, March 15, 2012
6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Special Birds at Shangri La highlights birds that reside at Shangri La as well as special migratory visitors. Have you ever heard of a Prothonotary Warbler or a Chestnut Sided Warbler? Both of these beautiful birds are found in Shangri La. Over 200 different species of birds may be found in Shangri La throughout the year. Many of these birds are considered somewhat rare and unique and a real prize to see by birdwatchers. This presentation includes an examination of species that are normally found at Shangri La with additional information on those which might be considered special. This presentation is appropriate for adults and children over 12 and will primarily include photographs and stories associated with the birds.
Third Thursday programs are offered each month from February through April at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center. These evening programs begin at 6:30 p.m. lasting one hour. Some programs are designed for families with children and others are designed for adults. Seating is limited, please reserve your space by calling 409.670.9799 to RSVP.
