S.O.A.R. Bird Program

Shangri La is pleased to welcome back Doris Mager of S.O.A.R., Inc. for another delightful evening with raptors!  On February 21, Shangri La will host two separate showings, one at 5:30pm, and the second at 7:00pm in the Discovery Theater.   These evening programs are open to families.  There is a $1 donation for each participant, and all proceeds go directly to Ms. Mager to defray her travel cost and the cost of maintaining her birds.  There is limited seating, so reserve your spot now by calling 409-670-9799.

During the show, Ms. Mager will teach us about the biology and ecology of four special raptors:  the Great-Horned Owl, Crested Caracara, American Kestral, and Screech Owl.  Participants will get an up-close look at each bird, and one of them will fly through the audience!  Ms. Mager will discuss unique adaptations of these birds, their different habitats, and what each of them eat in the wild.   She will share her story of how she became personally involved with these birds, and she will explain our role in the important task of conservation. Please join us for an evening full of excitement and education.
