STARLAB Workshop

February 20, 2009

STARLAB is portable planetarium capable of holding up to 28 students. Inside, a projector shows the night sky devoid of light pollutants. In addition to teaching about constellations, planets, moon phases, and mythology, teachers can also engage in cross-curriculum teaching using cylinders on the continental drift, geography, and the human cell.   This resource is available for teachers and students grades 1 through 12.  Teachers must be certified to use this equipment.

Each year Shangri La sponsors workshops to allow teachers to develop expertise to use this resource in the classroom.

Lunch will be provided.  Each teacher will receive 6 hours of Professional Development and will be certified to use the STARLAB equipment.

To reserve a seat at the workshop or for more information call 409.670.9113.

The workshop will be held at the Stark Museum of Art Education Building, 812 Green Avenue, Orange.  The Education Building is located across 7th Street from the Stark Museum of Art.
