This summer Shangri La will be participating in Mission Possible: Nature Challenge sponsored by the Houston Wilderness. This event encourages families to reconnect with the outdoors by completing different “missions” at a variety of state parks, nature centers, and other environmental learning facilities.  Please visit their website at www.discoverygreen.com for more information and directions.

Registered teams will have eight weeks to visit as many participating parks and nature areas in Southeast Texas as possible. Your team will benefit from viewing native plants and wildlife; dipping your feet in creeks, rivers, and the Gulf; drawing, photographing, or writing about your observations; and learning more about nature and science in your neighborhoods!
 

At each site you will complete activities designed for family fun and nature exploration provided in English and Spanish. The family with the most completed Missions wins the GRAND PRIZE to be awarded at the closing ceremonies on Saturday, August 8th from 2:00 – 5:00p.m. at Sims Bayou Urban Nature Center.
