Community Trash Off

February 7, 2009

For 14 years, residents of Orange County have gathered on the first Saturday in February to do their part to make our community a cleaner place. Volunteers have picked up more than 100,000 pounds of trash from streets, ditches, and along Adams Bayou since the inception of this program. Many families take this chance to do their part in keeping the bayou and the streets of Orange clean for the future. Each year, the Trash-Off begins at Orange Lions Park and teams are dispersed from this point. Volunteers are divided into teams consisting of 3-5 individuals with one team leader. After the trash pick-up, all volunteers relax at Orange Lions Park with a free pizza lunch and collect their prizes donated by local businesses.

This year, our Trash-Off will take place on February 7, 2009, from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.

This year we have more than 80 prizes donated by local businesses. And we’re excited to announce that Matthews Jewelers has donated a $300 watch for a grand prize drawing; You don't want to miss this!
