Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center presents the second installment of its 2008 Beat the Heat presentation series: Yard Art and Handmade Places, Extraordinary Expressions of Home by Jill Nokes, author, conservationist, and landscape designer. Nokes will explore the ways ordinary people organize and shape their yards or gardens to express identity and belonging.

The talk will take place in the Stark Foundation Education Building, 812 Green Avenue, at the corner of N. 7^th Street and Green Avenue in Orange, Texas. Admission is free. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
