Wild Wednesday: LEEDing to a Green Future

Learn about the natural world around us with Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center’s Wild Wednesdays program, presented each week by Shangri La’s summer scholars.

On Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 9 a.m., Shangri La will present LEEDing to a Green Future. Guests will learn about the tools and techniques used to help Shangri La become the first project in Texas and the 50th project in the world to earn the U.S. Green Building Council’s platinum LEED®-NC certification. This prestigious honor verifies the design and construction of Shangri La reached the highest green building and performance measures. Participants will also learn tips to live a greener life.

Reservations are required. To reserve a spot in this class, call 409.670.0803. The activity is free to members and included in the general admission fee for non-members. Participants must be over four years of age. Guests should meet at the admissions office at 9 a.m.
