Wild Wednesday: History of Shangri La and Garden Walk

Learn about the natural world around us with Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center’s Wild Wednesdays program, presented each week by Shangri La’s summer scholars.

On Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at 9 a.m., Shangri La will present History of Shangri La and Garden Walk. Participants will enjoy a guided tour of Shangri La’s beautiful gardens while learning about the facility’s fascinating history. Guests will also learn about the individual gardens and how they relate to the original Shangri La developed by H.J. Lutcher Stark more than 60 years ago.

Reservations are required. To reserve a spot in this class, call 409.670.0803. The activity is free to members and included in the general admission fee for non-members. Participants must be over four years of age. Comfortable shoes and water are encouraged. Guests should meet at the admissions office at 9 a.m.
