STARLAB Workshop
April 12, 2008
This workshop provides teachers the opportunity to earn certification with the Shangri La STARLAB, an amazing portable planetarium that brings the stars into the classroom at any time of the day. Inside the STARLAB, a projector will show the night sky devoid of light pollutants. Certified teachers will learn to incorporate lessons about constellations, planets, moon phases, and mythology with lessons about continental drift, geography, and the human cell. After learning how to use this resource in their classrooms, teachers are allowed free use of the STARLAB at schools throughout the region, as it is easy to set up and transport to schools.
Lunch will be provided during this workshop. Each teacher will receive 6 hours of Professional Development and will then be certified to use the STARLAB equipment in the future. To reserve a spot in the workshop, or for additional questions, please call 409.670.9113.
