JASON Project
Since 2003, Shangri La has annually participated in JASON Project, a nonprofit subsidiary of the National Geographic Society. Each year JASON Project connects young students with scientists, explorers and major events to inspire and motivate them to learn science. The 2008 JASON Project theme was Operation: Monster Storms – Exploring the Powerful Forces of Weather, and the staff of Shangri La participated and presented the effects of storm surge on coastal communities.
