Membership Information


Shangri La offers membership levels for individuals, families, corporate sponsors, and more with a variety of benefits not available to the general public, including unlimited admission to Shangri La (except for special events) and invitations to members-only events.

Please take a moment and review the different levels of membership and the benefits attached to each. This is an exciting time to be a member. Join us!

GENERAL BENEFITS FOR ONE FULL YEAR INCLUDE:

  • Unlimited admission to the Botanical Gardens and Outpost Tour (except for special events) for one year from date of purchase
  • Invitations to members-only special events
  • 10% discount at the Garden Store
  • Separate members’ express entrance during peak visitation periods
  • Notification of events through our Newsletter
  • Free or reduced admission to selected events
  • Early admission to plant sales
  • One-hour parking in Restricted Parking Area for Cafe dining or Garden Store shopping

Membership Levels: Individual, Family and Special

Individual Membership: $40 per year

  • All General Benefits for the named member for 12 months
                       
Dual Membership: $60 per year
  •  All General Benefits for the named member and one guest (any adult or child) for 12 months
           
Couples Membership: $60 per year
  • All General Benefits for one or both of the named members of the couple for 12 months
 
Family Membership: $80 per year
  • All General Benefits for two named adult members (same household) and up to four children ages 21 and under (including grandchildren) for 12 months, plus:
    • Add a child age 21 years and under for $10 per year
                       
Azalea Membership: $150 per year
  • All General Benefits for the named member and up to seven additional people (adults, children or any combination) for 12 months, plus:
    • Recognition as a supporter in publications
    • Qualification for rental options per separate Rental Policy
 
Orchid Membership: $500 per year
  • All General Benefits for the named member and up to nine additional people (adults, children or any combination), plus:
    • Recognition as a supporter in publications
    • Qualification for rental options per separate Rental Policy

Corporate Membership Levels

Friend of Shangri La: $1750 per year
  • One 5” x 7” plaque with the company or organization name or logo on the Wall of Honor at the entrance of Shangri La for the duration of membership. 
  • Company/organization name listed on Shangri La web page noting support for the duration of membership.
  • Recognition in publications issued by Shangri La and in Shangri La’s Annual Report.
  • 2 Corporate Membership cards, each of which will allow up to 10 guests unlimited visits to Shangri La for the duration of the membership.  Cards will be issued in the name of the corporate/entity member and must be used by an authorized employee for organizational-related purposes and are not transferable.
  • 50 Free passes to Shangri La allowing entrance into the gardens and an Outpost Tour (based upon availability at time of entrance).
  • Special notification of all Shangri La events.
Current Friend of Shangri La:  Firestone Polymers

Supporter of Shangri La: $3500 per year
  • One 6” x 8” plaque with the company or organization name or logo on the Wall of Honor at the entrance of Shangri La for the duration of membership.   
  • Company/organization name listed on Shangri La web page noting support for the duration of membership.
  • Recognition in publications issued by Shangri La and in Shangri La’s Annual Report.
  • 4 Corporate Membership cards, each of which will allow up to 10 guests unlimited visits to Shangri La for the duration of the membership.  Cards will be issued in the name of the corporate/entity member and must be used by an authorized employee for organizational-related purposes and are not transferable.
  • 100 Free passes to Shangri La allowing entrance into the gardens and an Outpost Tour (based upon availability at time of entrance).
  • Special notification of all Shangri La events.
  • 10% Discount on Facility Rental
Patron of Shangri La: $7500 per year
  • One 8” x 10” plaque with the company or organization name or logo on the Wall of Honor at the entrance of Shangri La for the duration of membership.   
  • Company/organization name listed on Shangri La web page noting support for the duration of membership.
  • Recognition in publications issued by Shangri La and in Shangri La’s Annual Report.
  • 8 Corporate Membership cards, each of which will allow up to 10 guests unlimited visits to Shangri La for the duration of the membership.  Cards will be issued in the name of the corporate/entity member and must be used by an authorized employee for organizational-related purposes and are not transferable.
  • 200 Free passes to Shangri La allowing entrance into the gardens and an Outpost Tour (based upon availability at time of entrance).
  • Special notification of all Shangri La events.
  • 20% Discount on Facility Rental
  • One guided tour for corporate management, up to 12 people.
Current Patron of Shangri La: Temple-Inland

Champion of Shangri La: $15,000 per year
  • One 8” x 10” plaque with the company or organization name or logo on the Wall of Honor at the entrance of Shangri La for the duration of membership.   
  • Company/organization name listed on Shangri La web page noting support for the duration of membership.
  • Recognition in publications issued by Shangri La and in Shangri La’s Annual Report.
  • 16 Corporate Membership cards, each of which will allow up to 10 guests unlimited visits to Shangri La for the duration of the membership.  Cards will be issued in the name of the corporate/entity member and must be used by an authorized employee for organizational-related purposes and are not transferable.
  • 200 Free passes to Shangri La allowing entrance into the gardens and an Outpost Tour (based upon availability at time of entrance).
  • Special notification of all Shangri La events.
  • 30% Discount on Facility Rental
  • Director’s Private Tour of Garden for up to 25 people, either at one time or extended over multiple (up to 3) tours (subject to prior scheduling).
  • One complementary rental of the Central Courtyard with Tree Ring Plaza for an after-hour event for up to 200 people (based upon and subject to terms and conditions outlined in Shangri La’s facility rental policy.)  Excludes catering fees and other ancillary costs noted in facility rental terms.

Terms and Conditions:

Memberships are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Membership is non-transferable and valid only for the person(s) whose name(s) appears on the card. Memberships may not be used for group admissions.

You will obtain an official membership card from Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center with any membership purchase. For admission under any membership level, the named member must be present and show his or her membership card and photo identification. Any guests permitted under the membership level must accompany the membership card holder. 

As a non-profit organization that relies on membership and attendance for support, we must prevent misuse of our membership cards. Protecting your membership privileges will assist us in keeping prices affordable for our members and for as many people in the community as possible.

Please note: Regardless of membership level, children ages 3 and under are not admitted for the Outpost Tour and/or the bayou area.
