Volunteers, members and staff certainly know that Shangri La is a special place.  However, Shangri La has also received recognition from throughout the U.S.  In the spring, we were recognized by the American Association of Architects as one of the top ten green projects in the world.  There were only 5 other sites in the U.S. recognized for this prestigious award and Shangri La is the only one in the South.  In September, Landscape Architect Magazine recognized Shangri La in its magazine with a front cover photograph and a 16-page article.  Those who are familiar with this magazine say this high level of coverage is very unusual.
