Holly Hanson

Volunteer/Tour Coordinator

Holly coordinates Shangri La’s volunteer program, which includes recruiting, interviewing, and placement of volunteers as well as orientation, training, management of volunteers and program evaluation. Holly also schedules all public and school tours into all areas of Shangri La. Holly has been with the Shangri La program since August 2004, starting as greenhouse manager before moving to the volunteer/tour coordinator position in October 2007.

Holly received a Bachelor of Science degree in plant science from Louisiana Tech University with a minor in English. She previously worked at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas, first with the horticulture staff in the Rain Forest Pyramid and, later, with the horticulture therapy department, where she coordinated a summer camp for children and adults called “Camp Discover Nature.”
